Community

Community and being active within the community is a large part of the experience for our student-athletes here at Maryland. Being active in the community not only helps our student-athletes meet and stay connected to new people, it also serves as a valuable tool in teaching them life lessons.

Over the years, the women’s basketball team has spent time volunteering with various organizations, including the Special Olympics, local retirement centers, middle & elementary schools, soup kitchens, & area hospitals including the National Children’s Medical Center.

Involvement in local community is very important to our program and to the growth of our individual team members. It teaches our student-athletes to be more than just great basketball players... it helps them become great people too!
